HyLogger™ is a non-destructive spectroscopic scanning technology developed by CSIRO that offers cost-effective means of capturing detailed mineralogical data along with a high-resolution digital image of the drill core in their original trays, thus digitising the whole core-logging process.

This reflectance spectroscopic data collected between visible - near infrared (VNIR) to shortwave infrared (SWIR) wavelengths (400 - 2500 nm) helps us to extract new geological knowledge on the alteration mineralisation common to many geological units and hydrothermal alteration assemblages.

HyLogger^TM data can be accessed through the online facility hosted by AuScope National Virtual Core Library and the request for specific data delivery (PDF) has to be addressed through the HyLogger^TM Geoscientist.
