Before tenure can be granted, native title and environmental factors need to be taken into account.

Fees

Royalties

Responsibility for royalty administration transferred from DEEDI to the Office of State Revenue (OSR) within Queensland Treasury on 1 July 2011. Please refer to the Royalties on mining and petroleum tenures page.

Rents

Annual rental is payable on all mining, petroleum, geothermal and other tenures administered by DEEDI. Please refer to the rents page.
