Engineering, Testing and Certification Centre

The Engineering, Testing and Certification Centre provides specific testing and certification services for electrical equipment used in hazardous locations and related facilities such as repair and overhaul workshops. This centre also tests, investigates, and calibrates mechanical and electronic equipment and materials.

As a natural extension of our services, Simtars now provides certification of quality management systems to AS/NZS ISO 9001. An effective management system provides a practical framework for continuous improvement and best practice. That is why it is important to be certified by a reputable third party certification body such as Simtars.

Our staff are familiar with the many Australian and international standards that businesses are required to meet when designing, manufacturing or distributing equipment and materials. This experience guarantees that your projects and enquiries will be dealt with in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

To ensure the best result for your organisation, Simtars works to a structured quality system. By giving you direct access to the individual manager responsible for your project, your valuable time is conserved.

Simtars has achieved recognition as a certification and testing organisation under the international IECEx and the Australian ANZEx schemes. We have also been accredited by the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JASANZ) as a certifying body for explosion protected equipment and repair and overhaul facilities. IECEx test reports issued by Simtars to the IEC hazardous location standards are recognised throughout the world, thus enhancing your company's ability to export your products globally.

Simtars acknowledges the importance of impartiality in carrying out its certification activities. We ensure that the staff involved in the certification of your equipment have no conflict of interest in relation to any aspect of the certification process.
